| dc.description.abstract | The text deals with the history and memory of the Amazonian Evangelical Boarding School, founded in 1948 in the city of Breves, in the Marajó archipelago. The purpose is to know and give social visibility to the history of an institution that, although it is an important chapter in the history of local education, has been relegated to oblivion. The objective is to know and describe fragments of the history and school memory produced by the referred Internship and remembered by former students, specifically, to identify the profile of the students who studied at the Internship, the teaching dynamics and the purpose of the institution, equally, to verify the value assigned to the boarding school by former students, as a place of memory and heritage. The adopted methodology involved the collection of oral narratives in the light of the Oral History methodology in concomitance with bibliographic and documentary research. The theoretical basis has contributions from scholars in the field of History of Education, Anthropology and Archeology, among the theorists we highlight Pollak (1989), Hodder (1994), Foucault (2004) and Conceição (2019). The results show that the Internship is kept in the memory of the interlocutors as an educational space of excellence. It can be said that it is a historical and school reference, whose teaching involved a didactic relationship integrating pedagogical, domestic and spiritual activities. We infer that the Internship adds memory and educational heritage value to former students and the history of local education. Therefore, the study of this unit, which is not limited here, becomes indispensable both to know elements of the past and to project new perspectives on education and school institutions in the Marajó region. | |
| dc.description.resumo | O texto trata da história e memória do Internato Evangélico Amazônico, fundado em 1948 na cidade de Breves, arquipélago de Marajó. A finalidade consiste em conhecer e dar visibilidade social à história de uma instituição que, embora seja um importante capítulo da história da educação local, tem sido relegada ao esquecimento. Objetiva-se conhecer e descrever fragmentos da história e memória escolar produzida pelo referido Internato e lembrada por ex-alunos, especificamente, identificar o perfil dos alunos que estudavam no Internato, a dinâmica de ensino e a finalidade da instituição, igualmente, verificar o valor atribuído ao Internato por ex-alunos, como lugar de memória e patrimônio. A metodologia adotada envolveu a coleta de narrativas orais à luz da metodologia da História Oral em concomitância com as pesquisas bibliográfica e documental. A base teórica conta com contribuições de estudiosos do campo da História da Educação, da Antropologia e Arqueologia, entre os teóricos destacamos Pollak (1989), Hodder (1994), Foucault (2004) e Conceição (2019). Nos resultados verifica-se que o Internato é guardado na memória dos interlocutores como um espaço educacional de excelência. Pode-se dizer que é uma referência histórica e escolar, cujo ensino envolvia uma relação didática integrando atividades pedagógicas, doméstica e espiritual. Inferimos que o Internato agrega valor de memória e patrimônio educacional aos ex-alunos e a história da educação local. Portanto, o estudo dessa unidade, que não se esgota aqui, torna-se indispensável tanto para conhecermos elementos do passado quanto para projetarmos novos olhares à educação e às instituições escolares na região do Marajó. | |
