| dc.description.abstract | Through religiousness, humans express their beliefs, doctrines, feelings, teachings, devotions, and/or dogmas, becoming the main vehicle of cultural and ideological manifestations of a great part of the population. Intending to recognize the memory of the cultural and historical preservation of the population, geography seeks to study religious manifestations, trying to understand the reasons why humans attribute meanings to places in the geographical space as sacred. This work will contribute to understanding the importance of religiousness in the culture of the Marajoara people, as well as their beliefs and customs, which are legacies of the colonization of the Amazon. Therefore, the objective was to carry out a literature review on the manifestation of the religiousness of the Marajoara people in the Amazon region, especially in the festival of Saint Sebastian in Cachoeira do Arari. Specifically, we sought to investigate the role of geography in understanding the manifestation of religiousness; analyze the meaning of the festival of Saint Sebastian for the Marajoara people; identify and understand the local customs related to the manifestation of Marajoara religiousness; and finally, emphasize the importance of the historical and cultural preservation of the festival of Saint Sebastian. For this discussion, we opted for a literature review of an exploratory nature, of a qualitative approach. The aim is to analyze bibliographical sources such as scientific articles, books, theses, and dissertations. In addition to direct observation of the customs of the Marajoara people in the Amazon region. Based on the results presented, it is concluded that religiousness is an important element in the identity of Amazonian culture and that the Festival of Saint Sebastian in Cachoeira do Arari is one of the greatest religious and cultural events of the region. Therefore, it is essential to preserve the religiousness and culture of these places, since they are essential elements for the identity of the Amazon region and for understanding the history and culture of these people. | dc.description.resumo | Através da religiosidade, o ser humano expressa suas crenças, doutrinas, sentimentos, ensinamentos, devoções e/ou dogmas, tornando-se o principal veículo de manifestações culturais e ideológicas de grande parte da população. Com o objetivo de re(conhecer) a memória da preservação cultural e histórica da população, a geografia procura estudar as manifestações religiosas, buscando entender os motivos pelos quais os seres humanos atribuem significados a lugares do espaço geográfico como sagrados. Este trabalho vai contribuir para compreender a importância da Religiosidade na cultura do Povo marajoara, bem como suas crenças e costumes, que são heranças da colonização da Amazônia. Portanto, objetivou-se realizar uma revisão literária acerca da manifestação da religiosidade do povo marajoara na região amazônica, especialmente na festa de São Sebastião em Cachoeira do Arari. Ainda, em específico buscou-se investigar o papel da geografia na compreensão da manifestação da religiosidade; analisar o significado da festa de São Sebastião para o povo marajoara; identificar e compreender os costumes locais relacionados à manifestação da religiosidade marajoara; e por fim, enfatizar a importância da preservação histórica e cultural da festa de São Sebastião. Para essa discussão, optamos por realizar uma revisão literária de carácter exploratório, de abordagem qualitativa. Almeja-se com as análises de fontes bibliográficas, tais como artigos científicos, livros, teses e dissertações. Além da observação direta dos costumes do povo marajoara na região amazônica. Com base nos resultados apresentados, conclui-se que a religiosidade é um elemento importante na identidade da cultura amazônica, e que a Festa de São Sebastião de Cachoeira do Arari é um dos maiores eventos religiosos e culturais da região. Portanto, é essencial preservar a religiosidade e a cultura desses locais, pois são elementos essenciais para a identidade da região amazônica e para a compreensão da história e cultura desse povo. Além disso, a preservação e o compartilhamento da história e cultura desses locais, através do turismo cultural, oferecem benefícios econômicos e sociais para a região, além de oferecerem a oportunidade para que os rituais ancestrais sejam preservados. | pt_BR |
