dc.description.abstractThis paper presents the appreciation of Oral Literature through urban legends, examining the first studies by American researchers in the 20th century, and their progress and changes over the years. Next, the legend “The Woman of the Tomb” will be analyzed to verify the existing symbolic elements, as well as to construct the imaginary of the people of the municipality of Augusto Corrêa-PA. It also highlights the importance of recording these narratives so that they are not erased from the memory of the people and can be passed on to future generations. To this end, bibliographic research was conducted to understand the subject, as well as field research with older and younger residents to collect narratives for analysis. For the theoretical framework, authors such as Benjamin (1994), Brunvand (2002), Cascudo (2012), Le Goff (1990), Todorov (2004), Zumthor (2000), and other authors who were essential to the text were used. Therefore, at the end of the research, we proved that legends are important for Oral Literature and for the residents of Augusto Corrêa, as their propagation is essential to keep the oral tradition alive.en
dc.description.resumoEste trabalho apresenta a valorização da Literatura Oral por meio das lendas urbanas, verificando os primeiros estudos com pesquisadores americanos no século XX, e seu progresso e mudanças ao longo dos anos. Logo, será analisada a lenda “A mulher da tumba” para verificar os elementos simbólicos existentes, bem como dar-se construção imaginário do povo do município de Augusto Corrêa-PA. Assim como a importância do registro para as narrativas não se apagarem da memória do povo e serem repassadas para próximas gerações. Para isso, ocorreu pesquisas bibliográficas para compreender sobre o assunto, e também a pesquisa de campo com os moradores mais antigos e mais jovens para poder coletar a narrativa para análise. Para o referencial teórico foi utilizado autores como Benjamin (1994); Brunvand (2002); Cascudo (2012); Le Goff (1990); Todorov (2004); Zumthor (2000) e outros autores que foram essenciais para o texto. Portanto, ao término da pesquisa, comprovamos que as lendas são importantes para a Literatura Oral e para os moradores de Augusto Corrêa, pois sua propagação é essencial para manter viva a tradição oral.pt_BR
