| dc.description.abstract | The study deals with the midwife as a “Place of Memory” in the rural community of Colônia Nova in the municipality of Abaetetuba-PA. Its main objective is to produce historical narratives as a strategy for initiating historical research and teaching history in the early years of elementary school, with proximises to the concept of “places of memory” by the French historian Pierre Nora. It is a study of a historical educational nature and uses a qualitative approach, supported by documentary research based on semi-structured interviews with women from the Colônia Nova community. In addition to Nora (1993), we dialogued with Adiche (2009), Cambi (1999), Le Goff (2013), Silva and Silva (2009). The study covers the recent historical and social context of this community, addressing the practices and memories associated with the midwife, here translated as the object of our epistemological curiosity for the fields of history and education. The results indicate that the craft of midwifery, although no longer practiced in the community, remains a link between the past and the present. The appreciation of these traditional practices is recognized as an essential part of the community's historical and cultural legacy, highlighting the importance of preserving memories and knowledge passed down for generations, and contributes to the understanding that a “place of memory” is not simply a place chosen at random because it is old, but a place that must have meaning. | |
| dc.description.resumo | O estudo trata sobre a mulher parteira como “Lugar de Memória” na comunidade rural Colônia Nova no município de Abaetetuba–PA. Tem como objetivo principal produzir narrativas históricas como estratégia para a iniciação à pesquisa histórica e ao ensino em História nos anos iniciais do Ensino Fundamental, com aproximações ao conceito de “lugares de memória” do historiador francês Pierre Nora. É um estudo de natureza histórico educativa e faz uso da abordagem qualitativa, com suporte da pesquisa documental fundamentada em entrevistas semiestruturadas com mulheres da comunidade de Colônia Nova. Além de Nora (1993), dialogamos com Adiche (2009), Cambi (1999), Le Goff (2013), Silva e Silva (2009), entre outros. O estudo abrange o contexto histórico-social recente da referida comunidade, abordando as práticas em memórias associadas à mulher parteira, aqui traduzida como objeto de nossa curiosidade epistemológica para os campos da história e da educação. Os resultados indicam que o ofício de parteira, embora não mais praticado na comunidade, permanece como um elo entre passado e presente. A valorização dessas práticas tradicionais é reconhecida como parte essencial do legado histórico-cultural de comunidade, evidenciando a importância da preservação de memórias e saberes transmitidos por gerações, e contribui para o entendimento de que o “Lugar de Memória” não é simplesmente um lugar escolhido aleatoriamente por ser antigo, e sim um lugar que deva ter significado. | |
