The Amazon region once considered free of the problem began to be seen in a more attenuated way in relation to the disease, In recent years there has been an increase in confirmed cases. The impacts environmental conditions favor removing the natural habitat of triatomes causing ecological imbalances directly affecting the quality of life of the population. In the state of Pará, in about 86 municipalities, cases of Chagas disease, the municipality of Abaetetuba stood out for the highest incidence of the cases. Data provided by the endemic disease center of the municipality pointed out that between the years 2010 to 2012 a total of 2,035 cases were reported of which 137 were confirmed. In all confirmed cases the form of transmission was orally, this is directly linked to the consumption of manipulated foods such as Açaí, the infection occurs from the feces or the minced barber himself in the food. Oral infection occurs mainly due to problems in handling the fruit, poor hygiene thus compromising the health of consumers. The urban area is most affected, because, despite the great concentration of Açaí production being on the islands the consumption takes place basically in the city. For this against the advancement of the disease programs have been created that are intensified in order to reduce the incidence and obtain earlier and more accurate diagnoses.
