Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/2566The increasing use of biofuels has provided studies and research on new methods and new raw materials, as it is a renewable fuel with various production possibilities. Another motivation for this growth is the instability in the price of fossil fuels and environmental discussions about the emission of pollutants. However, some countries have no natural availability to facilitate the cultivation and production of raw materials to supply a biofuel industry. The vast territorial extent and favorable climatic conditions, potenciate the Brazilian industries and facilitate positive returns for the investments made in this area. For this work it was chosen as raw material to Brazil nut (Bertholletia excelsa), native tree of the Amazon region, which has its chestnuts recognized worldwide because of its high lipid constitution with predominant average levels of unsaturated fatty acids. From the unsaturated fatty acids one can produce esters with unsaturated chain constituting a low viscosity biodiesel and low flash point, characteristics closer to petroleum diesel. The aim of this work is to produce biodiesel, from the transesterification of Brazil's chestnut oil and analyze the electrical and reagent expenditures for the production of 1 liter of biofuel. The biodiesel obtained was evaluated according to the standards pre by the federal and international agencies that supervise the production and sale of renewable fuels, having good results in the analysis of water and sediments, specific mass, flash point and kinematic viscosity. In the analysis of total glycerin and acid value, the results obtained were above the values specified in of ANP and ASTM. The calculated cost of production is inconsistent with the industrial reality because it was made according to the system used in batch and in laboratory conditions, very different from a system of continuous production.Acesso AbertoBiocombustívelTransesterificaçãoÓleo vegetalCNPQ::CIENCIAS EXATAS E DA TERRA::QUIMICA::QUIMICA ORGANICAProdução de biodiesel com óleo de castanha-do-Brasil por via metanólicaTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
