Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8944This study presents the application of the BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology in the development of an electrical installation project, highlighting its benefits, challenges, and impacts on the design process and information management. A literature review was conducted on the state of the art of BIM, its methodology, interoperability, collaborative work, federated model, and multidisciplinary coordination, with contextualization in both national and international scenarios. The research showed that BIM, by centralizing information in an integrated digital model, enables early clash detection, automated material take-off, and verification of compliance with technical standards. It also improves communication among the disciplines involved, reducing rework, optimizing resources, and enhancing project quality. In the case study, software tools such as Autodesk Revit and Navisworks were used for modeling and analysis, implementing a federated model and a Common Data Environment (CDE). This approach resulted in better coordination between teams, real-time updates, and decision traceability, consolidating greater efficiency and reliability.
