Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9141This paper analyzes the performance of students of the Archival Science Course at the Federal University of Pará based on the precepts of Information Literacy, in the context of the elaboration of the Archival Diagnosis of the Institute of Applied Social Sciences. The study adopted is anchored in a diversified methodology, which includes Bibliographic research, to theoretically support concepts such as: Document Management; Archival Diagnosis; Information Literacy and Supervised Internship. Presenting a case study, focusing on the experience of archival students, enabling a detailed analysis of the practical application of the knowledge acquired; Participant observation, which allowed the researcher to directly monitor the activities of the students involved, recording interactions, strategies and challenges faced; Interviews, carried out with the students involved in the diagnosis to capture their perceptions, reflections and learning; Comparative analysis between the data obtained and the theoretical guidelines, to identify gaps, good practices and possibilities for improvement in archival training. The investigative context is enriched by the dynamic environment of the Institute, which, with its subunits and diversity of documentary collections, offered a complex and challenging practical field for the application of informational skills. The Archival Diagnosis, in addition to contributing to the improvement of the Institute's Document Management, provided students with significant experience, allowing the exercise of critical analysis, teamwork and reasoned decision-making. The expected results include the identification of the level of Information Literacy of students and their relationship with practical-professional performance, as well as the proposition of strategies to further integrate the precepts of Information Literacy into the curriculum of the course.
