Acesso em: .https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/6902This paper is an analysis of the difficulties and challenges faced by basic education teachers in the municipality of Santa Luzia do Pará, in the state of Pará, during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a qualitative study. The survey was administered using a semi-structured questionnaire with ten open-ended questions to seven basic education teachers in the municipality of Santa Luzia do Pará. The data was analyzed using interpretative analysis. It can be seen that the teachers faced difficulties in planning due to the unexpected health situation, adapting to technologies, with emphasis on the use of handouts to reach students without internet access, which kept students engaged, crucial communication via WhatsApp in order to clarify doubts and provide information. The emotional and physical impacts on teachers due to the abrupt transition to remote work, highlighting fatigue, irritability and emotional challenges during the remote teaching period.
