Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/2273The present work, which has as its theme "the practice of reading through the literature on children and young people in the 6th year of primary education with the genre fable: Perceptions of learning", had as objective to analyze, based on the opinions of the teacher and the students of a sixth grade class, the contribution of the children's literature in the development of reading skills in the critical formation and citizen of the student in the Portuguese Language classes of the 6th year of Elementary School. A case study with descriptive quali/ quantitative research was conducted in a methodological procedure, which was carried out in a Municipal School of Primary and Secondary Education in the Urban zone, with 19 students from the 6th grade of the group: "A", from the in the morning, where diversified activities were developed, through the fable genre and text production to promote the contact of the class with the infantojuvenil literature and afterwards applied questionnaires with open questions about reading, reading teaching and children's literature in order to collect opinions about how students perceive this relationship in basic education. Therefore, in order to base this research in the teaching of reading and writing through the literature of children and adolescents, in the Portuguese language classes, in the major elementary school, several theorists have been studied that discuss this subject, about reading teaching such as (2008), Zilberman & Silva, (2008), and Zilberman & Silva (2008), as well as in the literature on the subject. ). The interest in this research arose from the observation and the need to offer a differentiated reading teaching, using the Children and Youth Literature in the Portuguese Language classes, aiming to awaken in the students the imagination, curiosity, creation, emotions, participation and formation of critical and competent readers / writers.
