In this context, the objective of this study was to evaluate the technological routes (TR) for household solid waste adopted by remaining quilombola communities in the Lower Tocantins Integration Region, such as Anilzinho and Joana Peres, located in the rural area of the municipality of Baião, state of Pará. To this end, the following stages of solid waste management were considered: generation, segregation, storage, collection, treatment, and final disposal. The research has a qualitative-quantitative approach, descriptive and exploratory in nature, and used as methodological procedures the mapping of RTs for household waste; the identification of the potentialities and weaknesses of these RTs, using the SWOT matrix; and the proposal of mitigating measures. As a complementary strategy, artificial intelligence tools were used as analytical support, and the results were compared with the empirical reality observed. The results show the predominance of informal and environmentally inappropriate practices, such as open-air waste burning, burying these materials in the ground, and disposal in dumps, in addition to the absence of structured treatment systems and regular public collection services. However, traditional practices of reusing organic waste were identified, although insufficient to ensure sustainable management. It is concluded that improving solid waste management in these communities requires integrated actions involving public policies, adequate infrastructure, continuous environmental education, and respect for local sociocultural specificities.
