The main goal is to contextualize the evaluation issue from two complementary perspectives: understanding how students experience evaluation practices in their daily lives and exploring how teachers conduct these processes in the EJA class at Silvio Costa School, in the Nova Mocajuba community, in the Bragança region, Pará State. The work was designed based on a qualitative, phenomenological approach, thus focusing on understanding and interpreting the practices and speeches of the research participants, supported by a literature review and field research carried out through semi-structured interviews with students and teachers of the first stage class. The research results showed that evaluations through exercises, assignments, and research are meant to spot students' struggles and give them learning in a formative way. The interviews were super important for giving students control over their own experiences and understanding how they see the evaluation process, while also appreciating teaching, which is often judged without really being understood.
