Acesso em: .https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/10186The objective of this work is to analyze the process of abandonment and the loss of original characteristics of the former Municipal City Hall buildings, as well as its reflection on other heritage sites neglected by public authorities. A significant portion of the heritage analyzed is linked to the urbanization process in the 1950s and the city's accelerated development. This study seeks to discuss how this systematic abandonment directly interferes with Capanema’s local memory, contributing to a collective amnesia regarding the city's history.
