This work is a theoretical study of the interaction between an electromagnetic wave and a gold nanostructure with spherical geometry, which has a thin dielectric layer of silica. It is considered that the effective diameter of the part is much smaller than the wavelength of the electric field, characterizing the almost static Rayleigh scattering. Using an analytical model through the Laplace equation, an interaction between the field of a point charge and a nanosphere, between a uniform field and a nanosphere, and between a uniform field and a core-shell nanosphere was verified. Then, using a numerical model, an interaction of the electric field between two core-shell nanospheres was verified, as a function of the distance between them. For an isolated nanoparticle, the efficiency parameters in scattering, absorption and extinction cross sections were compared with experimental data of Absorbance curves.
