Acesso em: .https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8542This work is a bibliographical review about the Restricted Relativity, in which the historical and conceptual, development of this theory will be approached, aiming at the comprehension of the conceptual aspects related to the physical interpretation about the space- time. We will discuss the context before relativistic physics, emphasizing aspects of disagreement between Newtonian mechanics and Maxwell's electromagnetism. Among these aspects, we can highlight the discourse of the existence of ether (the medium in which light would propagate) and the non-applicability of Galileo's transformations in Maxwell's equations. These problems were solved by Einstein, based on his relativistic theory in 1905. We will show how relativistic studies significantly shaped the concepts of space, time, mass and energy, as opposed to Newtonian physics that treated such entities as absolutes. After that, we will approach the GPS operation, taking into account possible relativistic corrections. In this way, we hope to illustrate how a theory of basic science may be applied to a technological resource that is available for most of our society.Acesso AbertoRelatividadeOndas EletromagnéticasEspaço-TempoMassa e energiaRelativityElectromagnetic wavesSpace timeMass and energyCNPQ::CIENCIAS EXATAS E DA TERRA::FISICA::AREAS CLASSICAS DE FENOMENOLOGIA E SUAS APLICACOES::ELETRICIDADE E MAGNETISMO CAMPOS E PARTICULAS CARREGADASO conceito de espaço-tempo na relatividade restritaTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - MonografiaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazil
