Acesso em:.http://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/1790The gabbroic rocks of the Parapuí Suite, have an outcrop area of about 2.5 km2, located in the northwest portion of the Massapê city in the Ceará state. The rocks intrusive in calcissilicátic, calcissilicátic gneisses, marbles and quartzites belonging to the Martinópole Group. This work presents the results of geological mapping (scales 1:30.000 and 1:10.000) and petrographic analysis. Field observations and petrographic studies allowed a better definition of contacts between the units, and further classification of the petrographic types of gabbroic rocks of the region in question. The gabbroic intrusive body has a variation in grain, and the center of the body is coarse grit edge while a medium to fine grained reflecting refriamento stages of the body. The petrography of gabbroic rocks led to the following classification of petrographic types: hornblende gabbro, pyroxene-hornblende gabbro, leucogabro, and microgabbro microgabbro granofiric. Phaneritic are rocks, and has mesocratic predominantly intergranular texture having a variation of textures ophitic sub-ophitic, composed mainly of plagioclase (An45-54), amphibole (hornblende) and pyroxene (augite). The k-feldspar orthoclase type are commonly observed intergrowth with quartz that features graphic texture, suggesting contamination with crustal assimilation of rocks rich in silica. The contacts with the surrounding rocks are sharp and with the formation of magmatic breccias.
