Based on a qualitative and interpretative approach, the research dialogues with Peirce’s semiotics, McLuhan’s ideas, and the contributions of Barthes, Eco, Santaella, Saussure, and Bakhtin. The study examines the city as a non-verbal text, highlighting urban signs, graffiti, and the social uses of space, as well as exploring the applications of non-verbal reading in fields such as advertising, fashion, design, and education. The analysis shows that non-verbal signs are not neutral but carry ideological and cultural dimensions that shape perceptions and behaviors. It concludes that non-verbal reading is an essential practice for the formation of critical readers, capable of understanding the challenges of communication in the digital age, marked by memes, emojis, fake news, and multimodal languages.Acesso AbertoLeitura não-verbalComunicaçãoSemióticaCidadeCultura digitalNon-verbal readingCommunicationSemioticsCityDigital cultureCNPQ::LINGUISTICA, LETRAS E ARTESA leitura não-verbal na obra 'Leitura sem palavras' de Lucrécia D’aléssio FerraraTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - MonografiaAttribution-NonCommercial 3.0 Brazil
