The main objective was to identify the contributing factors to the misalignment and propose effective corrective measures. The methodology included field inspections and numerical simulations using the Discrete Element Method (DEM). The results showed that the primary cause of the misalignment was the asymmetric material feeding at the transfer chute. As a solution, a stone box was installed inside the chute to improve the distribution of the ore flow over the belt. The simulations revealed a significant reduction in the loading asymmetry, from 40.9% to 6.2%, representing an improvement of approximately 85%. The implementation of this solution contributes to greater system reliability and reduces corrective maintenance interruptions. This study highlights the importance of technical analysis supported by computational simulation as a decision-making tool in complex industrial environments.
