The research used data from MapBiomas Fogo - Collection 4.0 (1985-2024), considering four main classes: annual burned area, accumulated burned area, fire frequency, and year of the last fire occurrence. The objective was to understand how the paving process of the PA-370, influenced the incidence and recurrence of fire, whether through slashand- burn practices or pasture maintenance. The results indicated that the use of fire exhibits strong interannual variability, with significant peaks in years of prolonged drought. The annual analysis revealed averages of around 30,000 hectares burned per year, with maximums exceeding 200,000 hectares during critical periods. The accumulated series showed that more than 700,000 hectares have already been affected at least once, representing about 25% of the total study area. The frequency map highlighted recurrent areas near the highway, with up to four burning events in forty years, while the map of the last fire occurrence showed a concentration of recent fires (2020-2024) along the paved axis. By cross-referencing the reference periods – 1985 (baseline), 2005 (implementation of the Action Plan for Prevention and Control of Deforestation in the Amazon (PPCDAm)), 2015 (a decade of environmental policies), and 2024 (impact of road paving) – it was observed that, although the PPCDAm contributed to the reduction of regional deforestation rates, fire remained present in the highway's area of influence, functioning as a recurring instrument for clearing and maintenance. The spatial and temporal patterns confirm that fire is a structuring element of the local landscape, articulating with the dynamics of infrastructure, land use, and agricultural pressure.
