Acesso em:.http://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/101This paper aims to analyze the role of the school library in the teaching learning process, to understand the competences of the school librarian in this process, to talk about the mission of the school library, its infrastructure and about community participation in the library. Showing through the bibliography researched that the library and the school librarian are powerful instruments of pedagogical support. A case study was also carried out in the library of the Raymundo Martins Vianna School, in order to know about the participation of the library in the teaching-learning process, in which the participation of the library in the pedagogical school process was verified through educational projects aimed at Reinforce the content seen in the classroom, promote the habit of reading and train responsible citizens.
