Acesso em:.http://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/1856Controlled Source ElectroMagnetic The Marine (MCSEM) is the geophysical method used for detection of hydrocarbons in sub-seabed which has gained prominence among the other methods in recent years in the petroleum industry. This work were modeled mCSEM surveys with variation in resistivity of the geological layers in the vertical. Parameters such as thickness of layers were varied in order to verify the behavior of the magnetic field in relation to the electric field, usually shown in electromagnetic geophysical works. Parameters such as frequency were also analyzed because the decay of the electromagnetic wave with increasing frequency. It was also verified the survey data without the presence of air wave commonly known as air-wave, which is a big problem in this geophysical method. It was found that the normalized amplitude of the magnetic field is larger than the electric field, being the magnetic field is more sensitive to noise in practice.
