Acesso em:.http://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/1745The present work sought to estimate the potential evapotranspiration (ETP) monthly of the city of Belém-PA, located in the north of Brazil, with geographic coordinates of -01 ° 27'20 "S and -48 ° 30'15" W. Which has a hot and humid climate, characterized by rainy and less rainy period. The methodology of the work was based on the use of empirical methods of estimation of evapotranspiration, having the method of Penman Monteith as standard. Data from the year 2016 of the UFPA automatic weather station were used and the data treatment and graphics elaboration were performed with the support of digital spreadsheets. Obtaining mean annual values of 155 mm for the Thornthwaite method, 131 mm for Pènman Monteith (PM), 157 mm for Hargraeves & Samani (H), 145 mm for Priestley & Taylor (P & T), Thornwaite - Camargo (C) with 121mm and 70mm for Linacre (Li). The methods of TW, H, TC, C and P & T overestimated the ETP and LI underestimated compared to PM. Correlation showed that the P & T method obtained the best result with R2 = 0.9858 and H the worst result with R2 = 0.0432. In the rainy season the ETP has lower values in a less rainy period due to the greater influence of cloudiness in this period, which reduced an intensity of solar radiation incident on the terrestrial surface.Acesso AbertoEvapotranspiração PotencialEstimativaPenman MonteithCNPQ::CIENCIAS EXATAS E DA TERRA::GEOCIENCIAS::METEOROLOGIAEstudo da evapotranspiração na cidade de BelémTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
