Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/10089The objective of this research was to compare the quality of filling with Ca(OH)2 paste using three application methods: filling with Lentulo spiral, filling with pre-manipulated paste in syringe and filling with lentulo supplemented by ultrasonic activation. Thirtysix simulated root canals with a single curvature in transparent blocks were used for this study. The canals were filled with a paste based on calcium hydroxide and prefabricated paste. The study samples were divided into three groups (n = 12) based on the insertion technique: Lentulo group (GLEN), pre-manipulated syringe paste group (GCAL) and passive ultrasonic activation group (LENUP). The evaluation was carried out by two examiners, specialists in endodontics, who attributed scores to quantify the presence of spaces in the three root thirds through computerized tomography images. The results of the Kappa test demonstrated that there was no statistical difference between the evaluators of the study, there was a statistical difference between the methods of filling the calcium hydroxide paste with the best values for the GCAL (p <0.05).
