Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9613In order to evaluate the influence of coarse aggregate content on the punching shear strength of two-way symmetric reinforced concrete flat slabs without shear reinforcement, 4 specimens with in-plane dimensions of (1400 x 1400) mm were cast. The models were divided into two groups containing 2 slabs each: the first group, named S90, is 90 mm thick, while the second group, named S120, is 120 mm thick. In each group, the amount of coarse aggregate in the concrete mixture was varied, for which a reference mix design called 100% Content was established, subsequently being increased to a 150% Content. The compressive strengths of the concretes ranged from 31.63 MPa to 38.27 MPa. The longitudinal reinforcement ratio used was 1.48% for the S90 slabs and 0.65% for the S120 slabs. The failure loads were estimated using the NBR 6118 (ABNT, 2023) code. Consequently, variations in the ultimate failure loads of 4% for the S90 series slabs and 21% for the S120 series slabs were observed. The slenderness reduction in the S120 slabs (d = 95 mm) increased their stiffness and the critical punching shear surface area compared to the S90 series (d = 65 mm). This geometric gain justifies the increase in the failure load of the S120-150 slab (Pu = 275.4 kN), which was 50% higher than the S90-150 slab.
