Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9784The expansion of photovoltaic solar energy in Brazil has gained increasing relevance due to the need to diversify the national energy matrix and to promote sustainable alternatives in regions with high solar potential, such as the coastal area of Para. In this context, this study aimed to evaluate the technical and economic feasibility of solar energy generation in Salinopolis, Pará, based on the analysis of a real 31.68 kWp photovoltaic system installed in the municipality. The research adopted a quantitative and descriptive approach, integrating technical and economic indicators to assess system performance in an Amazonian coastal environment. The technical results demonstrated satisfactory system performance, with an adjusted Performance Ratio of 74.9%, a capacity factor of 21.3%, and an annual energy generation of 33,158.62 kWh, indicating operational efficiency even under adverse conditions of high humidity, salinity, and seasonal variability of solar irradiance. Energy losses remained at low levels, confirming the adequacy of the system design, sizing, and operation and maintenance strategy. From an economic perspective, the results indicated high financial attractiveness, with a payback period of less than four years, a Return on Investment (ROI) exceeding 700% over the estimated 25-year service life, and a competitive Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) compared to conventional electricity tariffs, particularly due to the regulatory incentives established by Law No. 14.300/2022. The study also identified structural challenges, such as limitations of the local electrical grid, high initial investment costs, and future regulatory uncertainties, while highlighting socio-economic opportunities associated with the expansion of distributed generation, including electricity cost reduction, enhanced energy security, and local job creation. It is concluded that photovoltaic solar energy presents high technical and economic feasibility in Salinopolis, Pará, representing a strategic alternative for the municipality’s sustainable and environmentally responsible development.
