To support this work, the newspapers Folha do Norte and A Província do Pará were examined, focusing on the period from 1916 to 1929, as well as literary works by intellectuals of the time, such as Dalcídio Jurandir, Aldo Guajará (under the pseudonym Pio Ramos), Bruno de Menezes, and Raymundo de Moraes. Additionally, to enrich the analysis, a case of illegal medical practice from the 4th Criminal Court in 1929 was used, archived at the Amazon Memory Center of UFPA, where four women, including a minor, were among the accused. This study seeks to understand how, and to what extent, these periodical and literary narratives contributed to the gradual shift in societal perceptions of these ancestral feminine practices.
