Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8120Electric power distribution systems are more sensitive to signal variations caused by load changes, since they are closer to the consumer. These signal variations will affect the power quality criteria defined in module 8 of PRODIST, causing power utilities to seek methods that keep them within the defined standards and that are economically viable. However, a variety of problems that affect power quality can occur during system operation, including the problem of harmonic occurrence, which can even be generated in an attempt to adjust the voltage stability problem through the allocation of capacitor banks. Therefore, the search for the application of methods to improve power quality must take into account multiple issues to achieve a better quality scenario. Therefore, this work presents the use of modal analysis combined with frequency sweep to evaluate the problem of harmonic occurrence. For this, simulations in OpenDSS of the IEEE 34-bus test system were used, in its original mode andonsidering the allocation of a capacitor bank. From the results obtained, it was seenthat the application of modal analysis allowed greater accuracy in the classification of quantity and frequency of incidence of harmonic resonance peaks, as well as helped the evaluation of system nodes considering criticality ranges and consequent critical zones.
