We sought, through bibliographic research, to present relevant information regarding the use and benefits of using games as a pedagogical resource in the teaching of mathematics. Such research is relevant considering that, in contact with educational games, students feel an extra motivation in learning a mathematical concept. There are countless benefits that recreational activities can provide to students, such as attention, concentration, socialization, reflection and others. The main benefit is learning in a meaningful and fun or enjoyable way.
