From this concept, it is inferred that the subject who does not know the impacts that their actions can cause the conservation of the environment tends to practice behaviors considered unsuitable for the healthy life of the environmental resources. The studies that aim to verify the environmental perception of different subjects or social groups are considered an important tool to map the previous concepts and guide intervention actions based on what was observed. In this sense, the objective of this research is to verify the relationship between the environmental perception and management practices of the residual oil generated in roasting machines chicken by workers who perform economic activities of cooking and selling chicken. The data come from exploratory and descriptive research carried out at the João Costa Fair in Breves-PA through a semi-structured interview applied to five fairs involved with the generation of residual oil from chicken machines. The results indicate that the marketers have limited perception about the environment and its problems. In addition, traders do not recognize the residual oil from chicken machines as a source of environmental contamination. From this perspective, it is necessary to apply environmental intervention actions with the producers of residual cooking oil, with the purpose of contributing to the environmental education process of these individuals.
