The general objective was to analyze how science teaching is given in the early years. The specific objectives were: to address students' knowledge in initial training in Pedagogy courses; understand issues involving scientific literacy and how educational processes take place; reflect on science teaching from the perspective of the main theorists in the area, in addition to the National Curricular Base (BNCC), and finally, present some existing practices in science teaching. We emphasize that teacher training is essential for the pedagogical work to be successfully developed with regard to the teaching and learning process and that Science is not only in the classroom, but where students face everyday situations, where Science exists. Thus, we conclude that, despite the strong presence of textbooks, a science teaching that will arouse curiosity, creativity to face humanity's problems, a desire to learn more, think differently, generating different results, is what hope for and are some of the objectives that we teachers must share with our students.
