This process alters the environmental balance, reduces biodiversity, compromises soil quality, and directly influences the climate, contributing to increased temperatures and the intensification of ecological and socio-environmental impacts. This study analyzes the relationship between deforestation and temperature increase in the municipality of Canaã dos Carajás, in southeastern Pará, between 2020 and 2024. Data on heat spots from INPE and land use and land cover information provided by the TerraBrasilis platform were used, processed and integrated in the QGIS software. The results indicate a consistent reduction in vegetation cover, associated with an increase in the occurrence of heat spots, especially in peripheral areas near urban expansion and zones influenced by mining activity. The identified trends suggest a possible relationship between the intensification of deforestation and the increase in the local average temperature. The findings reinforce the importance of public policies focused on environmental monitoring and encourage the use of geotechnologies in sustainable territorial planning.
