The area of occurrence of tin granites of the Velho Guilherme Intrusive Suite, in the context of the Tin Province of Southeast of Pará (PESP), occurs around the south-southeast region of the State of Pará, between the municipalities of Tucumã and São Félix do Xingu. The Granito Velho Guilherme is established in the context of the Granito-Greenstone terrain of Rio Maria south of the city of Tucumã and has a semicircular shape with an outcrop area of approximately 80km2. This work aims to describe, in detail, the main textural features of these rocks and to obtain interpretations about the genetic processes of the ore present in them, in addition to characterizing the essential mineralogical composition and its accessory phases. With the analysis it was possible to detail three distinct facies, namely: (I) micromonzogranite, (II) granite with amphibole and (III) granite with biotite, where the occurrence of tin ore (cassiterite) was reported only in the granite with biotite facies. The conclusion is essentially based on textural interpretations together with geochemical data from the literature and indicates that the evolution of granite crystallization started with the crystallization of the micromonzogranite facies and then with the granite facies with amphibole and finally the formation of cassiterite occurred under conditions of average to low temperature in the granite facies with biotite. In addition is showed an assessment of the potential of the drainage network for secondary cassiterite deposits.
