Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/2736The present work gathers data on the structural arrangement of rocks from the Guia Syncline that outcrop at the adjacencies of the District of Nossa Senhora da Guia, southern portion of the state of Mato Grosso. The study aimed to characterize the geometry and kinematics of the structural arrangements from rocks of the area, to understand the sequence of events responsible for the current disposition of this feature. Structural data collected in this study suggests an evolutionary history to explain the particular arrangement of rocks observed, based on a model of transtensive deformation in a brittle or brittle/ductile domain. This event occurred after the collisional episode classically described for Paraguai Belt, supported by evidence such as: 1) rock units show the same deformation pattern, dominated by non-cylindrical forced folds in antiform-sinform arrangements with no standard convergence 2) heterogeneous distribution of different deformation fields where little deformed areas are separated by faults with high dip angles with considerable directional components, and sectors where more deformed layers show high dip angles (60-85°). Spatial position of the observed failures has a consistent geometric relationship with the foliated pattern of Cuiabá Group. This suggests that the deformation printed in the rocks of Guia Formation was controlled by preexisting tectonic fabric of metassedimentary rocks of the Cuiabá Group. These structures were reactivated during transtension and controlled the development of restricted areas of greater or lesser concentration of deformation. In addition, the preferred arrangement of the bedding with high values of dip (> 50°) and no collision structures are incompatible with the existence of thrust zones. Thus, carbonate rocks that comprises Guia Formation, in the studied area are interpreted as a Neoproterozoic-Cambrian cover affected by a late brittle event, with transtensive characteristics, in many cases as a result of reactivation of structures of the Cuiabá Group itself. It is assumed that the rocks of the Cuiabá Group, basement of the Paraguai Basin, may actually represent the Paraguay Belt, as a result of a collisional event in the Neoproterozoic.Acesso AbertoGeologia estrutural – Faixa Paraguai (MT)Sinclinal da GuiaFormação GuiaTranstensãoCNPQ::CIENCIAS EXATAS E DA TERRA::GEOCIENCIAS::GEOLOGIAArranjo estrutural da quilha do sinclinal da guia, Faixa Paraguaia (MT)Trabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
