The directorial memo was conceived as afictional account, written by a fictitious character, describing the processes involved in thespecific direction of the film. It addresses the motivations behind the construction of theoverall form of the work, using the neoformalism concepts by authors David Bordwell andKristin Thompson, and articulating the "Device" concept to comment on the stylistic choicesof the project.
