Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9987Corrosion is a natural phenomenon responsible for the deterioration of metallic materials as a result of chemical and electrochemical interactions with the environment, generating significant impacts on the industrial and technological sectors. In this context, the present work aims to develop a corrosive test bench for the analysis of the behavior of iron-carbon alloys, with emphasis on ABNT 1020 steel. Initially, a literature review was carried out addressing the main fundamentals of corrosion, including its electrochemical mechanisms, types of corrosion and factors that influence its occurrence. Subsequently, the experimental methodology was developed, contemplating the preparation of the specimens by machining, metallographic preparation for microstructural analysis and assembly of the electrochemical system. The workbench was designed through 3D CAD modeling, allowing the visualization and organization of the components before their physical construction. The experimental system consists of an electrochemical cell containing a working electrode, reference electrode and counter-electrode, as well as current and voltage sensors integrated with an Arduino Uno microcontroller, responsible for acquiring and processing data in real time. The tests were carried out using a 5% sodium chloride (NaCl) electrolyte solution, simulating favorable conditions for the corrosive process. During the experiments, current and voltage data were collected, making it possible to monitor the electrochemical behavior of the material over time. The results obtained demonstrate the feasibility of the bench developed as a tool for corrosion studies, presenting potential for application in both academic and industrial environments, contributing to the understanding of corrosive mechanisms and to the development of corrosion control and prevention strategies.
