Vila Moiraba is a district in the municipality of Cametá, located in the northeast of Pará. Considering the experiences that these inhabitants have had and have with the Tocantins River, a natural resource that is part of the historical context of the community, this study deals with “Vila Moiraba and the Tocantins River: History from an Environmental Perspective”, with the aim of documenting the protagonism of the inhabitants in the use of this watercourse, as well as to allow reflection on the conservation and preservation of the Tocantins River and its banks in front of Vila Moiraba. The study also aims to promote local historical knowledge from an environmental perspective. To this end, it was necessary to study the activities of these people over time, between the mid--20th and 21st centuries, specifically between 1940 and 2023. Research was then carried out based on oral accounts, photographs, field observations and bibliographic studies to complement the subject. As a result, it was found that the inhabitants have historical memories whose narrated experiences show the presence of elements and ways of life in interaction with the Tocantins River.
