The research is grounded in a systematic literature review, drawing upon technical standards and scholarly works of recognized relevance in the field. Fundamental concepts such as step and touch voltages, soil resistivity and permittivity, as well as the impacts of lightning strikes and internal faults, are addressed comprehensively. In addition to identifying the primary measurement techniques employed in the sector, the study critically evaluates the thresholds established by relevant standards, including those issued by IEEE and ABNT. The reviewed literature emphasizes methodologies for continuous monitoring of key parameters that guarantee the operational reliability of substations and the structural integrity of the grounding system, without the need for network de-energization. Moreover, the research introduces innovations through the development of computational routines that enhance the detection of anomalies in grounding systems, supported by current academic references.
