Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9608The present work aims to analyze the technical, operational, and economic feasibility of grain transportation on the stretch between Marabá and Vila do Conde of the Tocantins Waterway, considered one of the most strategic logistics corridors for the flow of agricultural production from MATOPIBA and Northern Brazil. The analysis shows that, despite the high logistical potential of the Tocantins River, its full operation is limited by factors such as strong hydrological seasonality, critical draft variations, and, mainly, the presence of the Pedral do Lourenço, the biggest physical bottleneck to continuous navigation in the studied stretch. The waterway operates efficiently for only about six months a year, during the flood season, which compromises predictability and reduces private sector interest. Thru documentary research, collection of official data from agencies such as ANTAQ, DNIT, CONAB, and IBGE, and analysis of the hydrological and operational characteristics of the river, the study identifies the main risks, limitations, and conditions that affect the transportation of soybeans and corn. The results show that, although the volume of cargo transported has increased in recent years, it remains well below the estimated potential for the corridor. The completion of the removal of the Pedral do Lourenço and maintenance works — such as dredging and permanent marking — appears as an essential condition to transform the waterway into a competitive route, capable of transporting more than 20 million tons annually. Studies indicate that the Marabá–Vila do Conde section presents partial viability: there is physical capacity and growing demand, but the operation still depends on structural interventions and public policies that ensure operational regularity. The study contributes by providing an updated view of the waterway, supporting strategic decisions for the logistical development of the Northern Arc.Acesso AbertoHidrovia tocantinsPedral do lourençosazonalidadetransporte hidroviárioTocantins waterwayPedral do lourençoSeasonalityWaterway transportCNPQ::ENGENHARIAS::ENGENHARIA CIVILAnálise do transporte de grãos na hidrovia tocantins: trecho marabá/vila do condeTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
