Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/2742This study aimed to apply qualitative (photointerpretation by systematic analysis of textural elements) and quantitative analysis (morphometric index calculation) of drainage elements and relief extracted from remote sensing products (Digital Elevation Model - DEM and LANDSAT optical images) to identify standard of tectonic deformation in the evolution of drainage in Cenozoic sedimentary deposits of the western portion of two sub-basins of the Alto Paraguai river (river Padre Ignacio and the stretch of the Paraguai River near the town of Cáceres). SRTM data were evaluated (spatial resolution of 90m) and TOPODATA (spatial resolution of 30m) for automatic extraction of drainage and lineaments relief through the Global Mapper software and V.14 PCI Geomatic, respectively. The results revealed that both drainage and lineaments extracted automatically from SRTM-DEM had good correspondence with the drains reference (obtained from LANDSAT) and tectonic structures recorded in the study area. This performance was not achieved with the data TOPODATA. Quantitative analysis based on morphometric parameters (asymmetry factor Basin - AFB, Transverse Topographic Symmetry Factor - FSTT and Relationship Slope Factor-Extension - RDE) associated with the qualitative analysis of the drainage network (identification of anomalous forms, overprint drainage and abrupt change in the type of channels in a small stretch of the river) revealed an effective regional structural control systems faults, fractures and folds in the current forms of drainage.
