Mining in the Amazon is an impor-tant economic activity, but it brings with it a series of environmental and social challenges. The extraction of mineral resources can lead to the devastation of forests, pollution of rivers, and displacement of indigenous and local communities. Objective: to identify sources of envi-ronmental information that use technological tools to locate areas affected by mining in the Amazon and to describe these sources and technological tools according to their purpose and contribution to the dissemination of knowledge about the damage caused by mining in this region. Methodology: this is an exploratory bibliographic and documentary research carried out through searches in databases, repositories, and institutional websites using keywords previously selected for their affinity with the proposed theme. Results: some tools used to detect and monitor environmental damage were identified that collect accurate and real-time data on environmental conditions, in addition to providing valuable support for the for-mulation of public policies. Final considerations: different sources of information employ so-phisticated tools to map, monitor, and disseminate data on the topic. Environmental infor-mation sources play a key role in disseminating knowledge about the damage caused by mi-ning in the Amazon through their tools that provide reliable data. Identifying and understan-ding the extent of environmental damage is necessary to promote effective conservation and recovery actions in the affected areas.
