Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/10442This scientific article aims to analyze the impacts of environmental changes on the insurance sector, particularly residential and housing insurance, and how the Brazilian government can utilize them to establish public policies capable of ensuring social and environmental justice for its citizens in the face of extreme climate events. The research is based on a qualitative approach, with a literature review of specialized works by both national and international authors on the subject. The conclusion of this study indicates that the Brazilian government can intervene in the economy based on public interest through a residential and housing insurance policy that protects the constitutional right to adequate housing in light of advancing climate change.
