Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8407The advance of research on urban amazonian led to the realization that cities are not its main manifestation; they were supported by micro-networks of localities, towns and communities, articulated between rivers, cities and forests. However, the process of integration of the Amazon to the rest of the country introduced a new territorial conception based on urban and rural dichotomies. The extended periurban area of the Amazon consists of multiple coexistences, where different modes of life, production and appropriation of space occupy the boundary between urban and rural. This article characterizes microrredes circumscribed to the periurban of Belém, as a layer that resists the extrapolations of the metropolitan logic beyond the city limits, through an extensive urban fabric that instrumentalizes the industrial and takes as a case study the micro network of riparian communities and quilombolas in the insular region of Abaetetuba (PA), which suffer threats to the maintenance of their way of life and territorial rights. The data collected through interviews, participatory observation, sketches, photographic records and official documentation organize the representation of urbanization scales, considering flows of interaction between communities, with Abaetetuba and Belém.
