Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9740This study examines the teaching of Mathematics in a pre-Medical class from a private institution located in Castanhal (PA), with a specific focus on preparation for the Brazilian National High School Examination (ENEM), a high-stakes assessment for university admission. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, integrating quantitative and qualitative data obtained through two mock exams, teacher interviews, and structured student questionnaires. The findings reveal significant improvement in academic performance, particularly in topics such as spatial geometry, linear functions, and algebraic modeling, which showed marked increases in accuracy rates. Pedagogical practices centered on problem-solving, the systematic use of simulations, and the integration of educational technologies proved most effective when combined with attentive listening to students' learning challenges. However, areas such as probability, combinatorics, and logarithmic functions persisted as obstacles, suggesting the need for more targeted instructional interventions.
