The specific objectives therefore seek to unfold in in-depth analyzes of how dance is intertwined with sport, contributes to the promotion of health and is inserted as a central element in leisure activities. The specific objectives are: a) to develop in-depth analyzes of how dance is intertwined with sport; b) contribute to health promotion; c) discuss performance dance as a central element in leisure activities, using information as an instrument of incorporation. The methodology used involves bibliographic review and qualitative analysis, exploring the historical foundations and concepts in addition to specific challenges faced by performance dance. The results reveal the need for awareness campaigns, inclusive programs and strategic partnerships that emerge as fundamental tools in this process, contributing to breaking stigmas and building a society more receptive to dance in its multiple forms. It was concluded that performance dance can be understood as a link between art, sport, health and leisure, where it started from the recognition of its diversity, thus promoting inclusion and respect for cultural roots, aiming for a future in which dance not only enrich individual experiences, but also contribute to the construction of more integrated, conscious and culturally rich societies.
