The patient, E.O.D.S., a 65-year-old female, sought dental care through the DTM/DOF Extension Project affiliated with the School of Dentistry at the Federal University of Pará (FO/UFPA), following referral from the Beneficent Portuguese Hospital. The chief complaints included pain and clicking in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) region, along with discomfort and difficulty in opening and closing the mouth, which began after a fall resulting in trauma to the chin region. A diagnosis of mandibular condylar head fracture was confirmed through computed tomography imaging. Furthermore, the patient reported poor adaptation of her existing prostheses (maxillary complete denture and mandibular removable partial denture), leading to aesthetic, phonetic, and functional discomfort. Based on clinical and radiographic evaluation, the initial treatment plan involved the use of a flat occlusal splint aimed at managing pain symptoms and restoring function, followed by the execution of a coronectomy and, subsequently, the fabrication of two complete dentures.Acesso AbertoDisfunção temporomandibularPlaca oclusalReabilitação oralTemporomandibular dysfunctionOcclusal splintsOral rehabilitationCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::ODONTOLOGIAUtilização de aparelho oclusal plano associado a próteses totais para reabilitação oral de paciente pós trauma condilar: relato de caso clínicoTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - MonografiaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazil
