Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/10249This study aimed to investigate the view of managers of private schools in the city of Castanhal, Pará, about the role that Physical Education (PE) plays in their educational institutions. Thus, as a central problem, the guiding question asks how these individuals understand PE as an area of knowledge present in the school environment. The research is qualitative, with the participation of ten (10) managers who work in private schools that offer PE as a curricular component in the city of Castanhal, Pará. The instrument adopted was a semi-structured interview with a guiding question: in your perception, how do you see the role that school Physical Education has within this institution? For data treatment we used the Content Analysis: Technique of Elaboration and Analysis of Meaning Units. The results indicate that these principals see the importance that PE has for the cultural, social, motor, and intellectual formation process of the students.
