In vitro fertilization, pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGS) allows the selection of a genetically normal embryo for transfer. However, about 48% of the embryos that pass through PGS are aneuploid, that is, in addition to the high costs of this technology, many embryos are unnecessarily biopsied. A combined evaluation of developmental parameters and embryonic morphology could improve the selection procedure without the need to submit many embryos to the PGS technique. Objective: to identify predictive factors for the formation of a euploid embryo evaluated by PGS. Method: A cross-sectional study involving 431 embryos of couples with indication of IVF that were submitted to PGS between 2013 and 2018. The embryos were divided into euploids and aneuploid. Data on the clinical profile of the patients were analyzed; quality of egg and semen; morphology and genetics of the embryo. Results: 426 embryos were divided into euploids (201) and aneuploid (225). The type of trophoectoderm was significant in euploidy. Among the euploid embryos, 26.9% were type A, 58.2% type B and 14.9% type C (p = 0.001). Maternal age also influenced the formation of a euploid embryo. 88.6% of the patients were under 40 years old and 11.4% were over 40 years old (p = 0.001). Endometriosis presented significant euploidy value. 91.4% were women without endometriosis and 8.6% were women with endometriosis (p = 0.049). The mean age of women with euploid embryos was 33.99 years (SD 3.98), while among women with aneuploid embryos the mean was 36.48 (SD 4.52) (p = 0.001). Conclusion: The analysis showed that the morphology TYPE A of the trophoectoderm of embryos in the blastocyst phase, the absence of endometriosis and the age of the woman being less than 40 years, are predictive factors for the embryo to be euploid.
