Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9425Urban mobility has emerged as one of the main challenges faced by contemporary cities, particularly in metropolitan regions, where commuting intensifies the demand for public transportation and directly affects the population’s quality of life. In Brazil, transportation is recognized as a social right and constitutes an essential condition for the realization of the right to the city and the promotion of socio-spatial inclusion. In this context, this monograph aims to analyze the challenges of urban mobility in the municipality of Benevides, in the state of Pará, with emphasis on the districts of Benfica, Murinin, and Santa Maria, which are part of the Belém Metropolitan Region (BMR), considering the impacts of public transportation on users’ daily lives. The research is justified by its social relevance and by the author’s lived experience, enabling a critical analysis of the challenges faced within the BMR, based on Law No. 12,587/2012, which establishes the National Urban Mobility Policy. Methodologically, a mixed quantitative and qualitative approach was adopted, grounded in a literature review, analysis of relevant legislation, direct field observation, and interviews with public transportation users. Additionally, the study examines the transition process of the public transportation system, highlighting the implementation of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) at the end of 2025, identifying both its advances and limitations in meeting local demands. The results indicate that, despite the structural improvements implemented, obstacles related to operational organization, fleet insufficiency, and inequalities in access to transportation persist, especially in the district of Santa Maria, reinforcing the need for integrated public policies and more efficient metropolitan planning.Acesso AbertoMobilidade urbanaTransporte público coletivoMigração pendularPolíticas públicasBenevides – PaUrban mobilityPublic transportationCommuter migrationPublic policiesCNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS::GEOGRAFIA::GEOGRAFIA HUMANA::GEOGRAFIA DA POPULACAODesafios da mobilidade urbana na Região Metropolitana de Belém: o caso do transporte público em Benevides - PaTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - MonografiaAttribution 3.0 Brazil
