Teachers had to quickly adapt to emergency remote teaching, facing overload, technological difficulties, and health impacts. This study addresses teaching during the pandemic, aiming to understand the challenges experienced by educators. The research adopted a qualitative approach, based on a bibliographic study (books, articles, and theses) and online questionnaires applied to basic education teachers, analyzed according to Bardin (2016) in three stages: pre-analysis, exploration, and interpretation. The results from 21 teachers show that remote teaching imposed challenges such as lack of infrastructure and technological resources, limited familiarity with digital tools, low student engagement, and overload without institutional support. Mental health was also affected, manifested in anxiety, stress, insomnia, and insecurity, exacerbated by social isolation. Despite these difficulties, teachers reported important learnings, including the development of digital competencies, greater pedagogical creativity, empathetic attitudes, and appreciation for in-person teaching and continuous professional development. In summary, the pandemic highlighted challenges and inequalities in education, but also emphasized teacher creativity and the importance of human interaction. The future demands a more inclusive, flexible, and humane school system, supported by public policies that ensure continuous training, adequate working conditions, and investments capable of strengthening educational quality.Acesso AbertoDocênciaDificuldadesEREPandemiaCovid-19TeachingChallengesPandemicCNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS::EDUCACAODesafios e dificuldades enfrentadas pelos docentes na pandemia da covid-19Trabalho de Curso - Graduação - ArtigoAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazil
