Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/2455The present study deals with “The use of the suspended organic garden with recyclable materials in the São João Batista school of Rio Campompema, in Abaetetuba-PA”, and is a field and bibliographical research based on documents such as the Parameters National Curricula - PCN's, besides authors such as Rocha (2013) and Silveira Filho (2012), who present in their studies the theme addressed; and on-site (field) research, in which we used as a means of collecting semi-structured questionnaires, 10 interviews with teachers, principal, coordinator and school staff. Subsequently, the results were analyzed and the main questions about the theme were presented. The research was carried out from January to December 2018. The aim of this study was to highlight the influence on the diet, enrichment of school meals and the education of children from the Abaetetuba-PA countryside school. In the course of the work, it was discussed about the historical evolution of sustainable development, healthy eating habits as well as environmental education, as well as highlighting the importance of creating a garden during the educational process of the students of the studied community. Regarding the reasons why the garden strengthened school meals, the 100% of respondents said that school meals added more taste, nutrition and satisfaction to be consuming a quality product, without the presence of agrochemicals and other products potentially harmful to the school.
